Mission and Vision Statements

Our Mission: Golden Oak Elementary School is guided by the belief that all children can learn. Student success is based upon the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders of the school community including administration, teachers, support staff, and the community at large. Our mission encompasses the academic, physical, social, and emotional growth of all students. We will promote excellence through meaningful, standards-based instruction . A nurturing school environment is provided to support the development of a positive self image. It is our ultimate goal to create life-long learners prepared for careers in the 21st century.

Our Vision: Golden Oak Elementary will be a place where we focus on the success and continued improvement of all students. This will be a place where every stakeholder is guaranteed a voice in the decision making process and where we not only believe that all students can learn but we will act upon that belief. We will look at every challenge and seek the most from every opportunity with a view toward possibility, not merely compliance. Every student who attends Golden Oak will exhibit five characteristics at all times: Be responsible, respectful and safe • Communicate and collaborate effectively • Use cooperative and independent learning styles to accomplish goals and be prepared to interact in the 21st century • Be creative, critical thinkers and use problem solving techniques to resolve conflict and handle everyday situations • Set and meet high standards
